Monday 12 February - Glamabook is Gone!

The Glamabook guestbook has been removed from the website. Anne-Lise spends most of her interactive time at her myspace.com/glamaphonic site so the Glamabook is not only neglected, but it's become the perfect target for unwanted guestbook spamming. Thank you to everyone who took the trouble to sign it in the past.

Update: 19/06/06: EP RELEASE SOON! While I'd been aiming for the end of June, the business side of organising the EP is taking a bit longer than I'd expected. What I had thought might take a few weeks is actually looking to take a few months. A launch party is still planned, but because I love to have twice the fun, I think I will have two launches; a digital online launch, and a live venue launch a few months later, where CDs of the EP will be available for the first time.

New news! Update: 19/06/06: My MYSPACE page! A few weeks ago I stumbled across a place called myspace.com. I was soon to discover that apparently every person in the free world had their own myspace page. Since building my site, I've had over 200 visitors in two weeks, and almost 300 listens to my music, plus I've made a few new fans and friends. Fantastic. Check it out. It's a very music friendly site that is a great network for both fans of music and the independent musician too.

22/05/06: A SNEAK PEEK OF THE NEW EP! Despite a rather debilitating bout of the flu, which not only left my spirits in a state of misery, but also left my voice in a major state of disrepair, I have uploaded some sneak previews of my soon to be released commercial recording. Check them out at the MUSIC page. Because my voice is still recovering from this most horrid of horrid flus, the final recording has been delayed somewhat. Expect a late June, or early July release. Read more about it on the BIO page.

22/05/06: ALL FIXED...ALMOST. OK, so perhaps I overeacted (see below) just a smidgeon after discovering that my Glamagram list had disappeared. Despite a non answered help desk call, I discovered a week later (after checking daily) that the mailing list is still in tact and I haven't lost any subscribers. Fantastic news. There are still a few things missing on the website, but it's about 95% fixed.

13/05/06: WEBSITE DOWN: OH MY GOD! THEY LOST ALL MY GLAMAGRAM SUBSCRIBERS TOO! OH MY GOD! NOW I HAVE NO WAY OF CONTACTING ANYONE AGAIN! My webhost decided to migrate to a new server. They LOST all my files. Grrr. I've managed to keep 80% on my hard drive, but it's the other 20% I have to rebuild. What a pain! Much of the website is in despair, so please be patient while it's getting rebuilt!

4/04/06: A New Blog - Hope for the best: It's about time I joined the blogging sensation. What better way to do it than to keep an online account of my recording experiences for my first big CD? I've been at it for about a week now and am thoroughly enjoying putting down my thoughts in cyberspace. Photos & sneak previews of CD snippet will be uploaded as I go. Find it under the "Hello" page of my website!

02/04/06 THE CD is coming. Who'd have thunk it? I've finally begun making headway into recording my first CD. After ten years of waiting for the right band, I've just decided to go solo. As you might imagine, I am EXTREMELY excited about taking the big step. Aptly, the first song which has been completed "Back Where She Began". After performing it acoustically with the duo, it's taken on a new sound as a funky laid back lounge track. It's heavy on bass groove, dreamy harmonies and wistful vocals.

The CD itself will be an eclectic mix of funk, soul, blues and other glamaphonic type sounds. It will also be available for purchase as downloadable MP3s from various internet music shops.

Current work in progress is "I Just Wanna Be Rich" which saw the light of day with the band Ayelle. It's sticking quite closely to the Ayelle arrangement, but now I have the luxury of spiking it with lush vocal harmonies. It's a lot of fun! "I Just Wanna Be Rich" gives even the hardest core 70s funk a run for its money!

Release date of the CD will be towards the end of the year, with big promotions planned including a CD launch & local gigs with new band and a possible solo capital city whirlwind tour of the Australian eastern states.

22/03/06: The latest website. Well, as you can see, the website has gone a major facelift again. In the time that I've been in Sydney, I think my website has undergone drastic surgery on average, once every six months. I'm secretly hoping that this will be the last change, for a while anyway. Still more stuff to come...join the GLAMAGRAM for latest updates.
