In Lounge-O-Scope. As most of you will know, Anne-Lise is the new lead singer of edgy lounge originals band, Machiniso. She joined Rich Machine (drums), David "Celestial" Smith (vibraphone) and Scott Leishman (bass) in 2011. Late last year, Machiniso went into Zen Studios at St Peters in Sydney and did a live recording of four songs over one three hour session. The result is the new EP, In Lounge-O-Scope. The EP is out now on iTunes and other online providers. Visit the music page for more information.

"This is my dream band", Anne-Lise has stated on her official facebook page. Anne-Lise is looking forward to gigging and touring with Machiniso throughout 2012.

IN LOUNGE-O-SCOPE, the new EP from Machiniso with Anne-Lise Larsen on lead vocals

"As a four track EP, Machiniso's jazz based first-release has been followed up with a stripped back quartet playing live in the studio. The strong vocals from songwriter Anne-Lise Larsen complement the panoramic sounds emitting from Dave Smith's vibraphone. Captured to hard disk by Jeff Lee of Zen Studios, St Peters, Australia, it is crisp, punchy and soaked in the fine electric bass playing from the string master himself, Scott Leishman." reprinted from http://www.cdbaby.com/cd/machiniso2

New Album Begins Work on Anne-Lise's new album begins on Monday 28 February 2011. Since the release of 2009's Planets Aligned, Anne-Lise has been searching for inspiration on how to approach her new album's songs. After spending an invigorating couple of days shaking hands with her muscical idol, Bryan Ferry, and seeing her favourite band Roxy Music playing in Sydney, she says she's found herself again and can't wait to get started in the studio!

At this early stage in the process, it looks like there'll be 12 new tracks on this album, including a possible cover of one of Anne-Lise's favourite songs.

The Weather Remix Film Clip Final filming for the clip has been put on hold indefinitely. More news as it happens.

The Weather (Mad Mad Mad Remix) The Weather was already Anne-Lise's most danceble track on her 2009/2010 album, Planets Aligned, but now it's been given the French House European Pop treatment that Anne-Lise has held so dear.

"I've always loved dance music. I grew up in the 80s, loving the extended versions of songs by Duran Duran, Dead Or Alive, Sylvester, Divine and Grace Jones. So, I thought it was about time to do one myself and that's exactly what I've done!" she says, on the release of her first (of many she hopes) extended dance mix, The Weather (Mad Mad Mad Remix).

The Weather (Mad Mad Mad Remix) has been given exlusive release on the two main mp3 stores in the world iTunes and Amazon. It has just been made available on iTunes, arriving soon at Amazon. Download now at iTunes for $1.69 (Australian price quoted).

There is an accompanying video being made right now which should be online in a few weeks. Stay tuned. Sneak peek below:

Official Video for Cold Cold City It's only taken four years, but a film clip for Cold Cold City has just been finished. We think it's worth the wait!

Filmed during the coldest July, Sydney Australia, has had in decades, the Cold Cold City film clip sees Anne-Lise "walking through the city streets, wondering where the people meet to make good times". It's a disjointed, frantic, sad, and maybe just a tad paranoid look at a lonely life in the big city and ultimately learning to accept and make the most of one's circumstances.

Visit it at YouTube and let Anne-Lise know what you think.

The Glama Has Gone. After a number of years of trying to hang on, Anne-Lise has decided to let glamphonic.com go. In a letter to her Glamagram subscribers she states:

"Many of my long term followers will know that I created the term "Glamaphonic" way back in 2004. It was a word that described everything I wanted my music to be, in sound and sight. It was a play on the words Amazonic (with my being 6ft tall), gramaphone, glamour and phonics (obviously)...everything I wanted my music and image to personify. I did an exhaustive search on the internet, and there was no existing term, so I grabbed it and made it mine. My big mistake was not trademarking it officially, but of course, that costs thousands and thousands of dollars to do internationally. Then, Lady Gaga came along sometime in 2008. I'm not sure how it happened, but the word "glamaphonic" ended up in one of her songs. Whether it was by pure coincidence, or whether she came across it on the internet after I'd spent a few years branding myself with it, I'll never know. Now the word Glamaphonic is synonymous with Gaga and her crazy devotees. Do a search for Glamaphonic now, and you'll see all the Gaga-ites who've hitchhiked it. While my Glamaphonic presence was only small, it was all mine, and it was original. Now, it looks like *I'm* the follower and that breaks my heart."

Up until now, Anne-Lise's website could be accessed via both www.glamaphonic.com and www.anne-liselarsen.com. Anne-Lise Larsen's official website will now only be available via www.anne-liselarsen.com. All emails from Anne-Lise will have the @anne-liselarsen.com extension. Album artwork - brief delay I decided to do my initial distribution through CD baby. They've just gone through a major site redesign and are snowed under with technical issues. As a result, I've been waiting for a barcode for the album artwork for almost three weeks. Usually the turnaround is a couple of days. This has obviously pushed me back a few weeks now, but I am still aiming for the 15 October release. No matter. It will all happen eventually.

Still quite annoyed to lose my entity and creation, word/genre/lifestyle/attitude/etc Glamaphonic to Lady GaGa. Decided to renew that domain for another year anyway.

iLike profile Check out my new profile on iLike. It's very cool because it links in with a lot of other networks like myspace and facebook, plus, it's a great way to buy my music directly from iTunes.

Studio work finished on new album I've finished work in the studio. It's been mastered. I have an album of music. Things left to do, and not necessarily listed in order of importance are; decide on album title, finalise artwork (big job!), announce a release date, press the CD, distribute, release, tour (maybe).

A brand new release today! My brand new single Could You Be The One (I've Been Looking For) is released today exclusively through www.martianmusic.com.au

Could You Be The One? - Anne-Lise Larsen
Buy the new single from Martian Music (click above)

"Could you be the one" is the first single from Anne-Lise Larsen's forthcoming studio album, which will be released in late 2009. "Could you be the one" is a romantic, dreamy adventure, encapturing the first moments of new romance, and the quietly scary epiphany, that this could be the real thing.

New album Well, this is indeed an epic undertaking. I've just finished work on a gorgeous love song called "Could You Be The One?". It's not about finding "the one" as I don't really believe there is just one special person for everyone. Rather, this song is more about luck, chance and the search which is what I think finding love is all about. My cello makes an appearance on "Felt So Good" which is a song about the three "R"s. Regret, retribution and resolution. It's a very passionate song with a climactic point culminating in one of the most heartfelt cello solos I've ever played. I expect to release this album around July 2009.

On the web In between working on the album, I've been trying to organise my web presence a bit better. I've now got my facebook music page linked in with my official blog. Check it out here. Anne-Lise Larsen Blog...

GaGa's glamaphonic Not sure what to do about this one. Lady GaGa has used the word "Glamaphonic" in one of her songs. Whether her use is coincidental or other, it's become increasingly difficult for me to justify using Glamaphonic as my own brand, even though I created it. Everywhere I go on the web I see references to Glamaphonic that haven't come from me, but have come through Lady GaGa's song. People think I'm copying her. It's not true. I had it years ago. Sigh.
